Topic: Old Rock Song Stuck In My Head Posted: August 05 2005 at 11:36 |
Help!
I heard the end of a song on the radio yesterday that was popular in the '70's. Can't remember the group, but my buddies used to play them all of the time.
Male vocalist
Lyrics something like "give me silver and gold, the color of the rainbow I'm told...my rainbow is overdue"
Would like to listen to them again. Can anyone provide the name of the song or group?
Thanks

Bad Company were pretty solid - they produced three really good tracks (one on their debut - "Can't Get Enough" and two on Straight Shooter - "Shooting Star" and "Feel Like Making Love").
"Silver, Blue and Gold" is probably the best track on Run With The Pack - although it's a fairly consistent album. I just don't think it's as good as the previous two (Straight Shooter and the debut, Bad Co.).
Paul Rodgers (ex Free, now Queen) produces some solid rock vocals, and there's not much you can say against their music in general... unless you're a snobby proghead, in which case you'd say it's bland and basic rock on the whole.
But I wouldn't say that

Damn, I don't usually know these lyrics. This time I did and I'm too late. The actual lyric is
"give me silver, blue and gold, the color of the sky I'm told
Certif1ed said it all. Run With The Pack is good but not as good as Straight Shooter. They went slowly downhill from then on.
Let's start a Bad Company for Progarchives thread. I'm sure I can think of a few reasons why they should be included.
Actually, I can't, damn.
