vocals are quite an important part in music that features a (or more) vocalist, but often they are not the very main focus point for me, but sometimes they can be inrecibly beautiful or effective. if this has been done earlier then kindly enlighten me. if not then feel free to tell me and the othere pa-members wich your favourite vocal moments (eg lines, choruses or whole songs) are. here's a few to get it going:

anathema: angel walk along us (the ville valo part)

lazuli: lepas de l'ogre (or pretty much anything else)

opus symbiosis: artefacts of the gardener (put a letter in a bottle and throw it in the sea/or whisper the story in someones ear/ etc...), one of the best female vocalists imo

porcupine tree: the joke's on you (strange days/incredible days/bring all the children to me/ etc) and .3 (black the sky, weapons fly / lay them waste for your race )

Probably a Jon Anderson or Greg Lake moment.

I'll go with Lake singing Sinfield.

The yellow jester does not play
But gently pulls the strings
And smiles as the puppets dance
In the court of the crimson king.

Powerful imagery beautifully sung.

Its hard to pick a moment from these songs so can I pick the whole song?

Justin Hayward singing 'Nights In White Satin'

Gary Brooker singing 'White Shade Of Pale'

Helmut Koellen singing "Playin' This Song Together" from his solo album "You Won't See Me"

Francesco di Giacomo singing "Ed Oro Io Domando Tempo Al Tempo Ed Egli Mi Responde...Non Ne Ho!" from Darwin! by Banco

Everything that Aldo Tagliapietra sings  on the Le Orme album "L'Uomo di Pezza"

"The Pinnacle" by Kansas, especially the verse: "With talons wrought of steel, I tore the heart of doom / And in one gleaming moment, I saw beyond the tomb."

Thijs van Leer yodeling on "Hocus Pocus."

"Metropolis pt. 1" by Dream Theater, where JLB holds one note for like, five minutes.

And even though it's not really prog, power-metal band Lost Horizon's "Highlander (The One)," for the part near the end the goes:
"WHOA-OH-OH-AAH-AH-AH-AAAA-HA-AAH-AH-AH!"

Confused I know.  You'd just have to hear it to understand it.
"I am the one who crossed through space...or stayed where I was...or didn't exist in the first place...."

The entire "I'm in the valley" section of The Killing Hand, Live at the Marquee. Definitely my favourite singing moment ever.
The high sung parts in "The Walls Of Babylon" by Symphony X.
Pretty much all of "The Court Of The Crimson King."
The F# note in "Learning To Live."

Circus - Movin' On (tthe 20 mins title track. The last vocal passa has never been bettered.

Scatts and canon vocals ..... even Magma's most delightful moments don't reach this perfection.

I get spine chills just thinking about it
let's just stay above the moral melee
prefer the sink to the gutter
keep our sand-castle virtues
content to be a doer
as well as a thinker,
prefer lifting our pen
rather than un-sheath our sword

So many great moments to choose from, but my favourite vocal moment will always remain Jon Anderson's throughout the entire Turn of the Century.
