Topic: album recommendations Posted: April 23 2005 at 18:31 |
I had a thought after Karnevil9 posted about the Dr Z album on one of the threads:
(this may not make much sense, I'm slightly working it out as I go along )
We could have a topic where every day (or every week?) one (or five, or ten?) people (in a rota, or something?) recommend one obscure album (or band?) that others could give a listen, progressive or prog related - I'm sure plenty of people would love to share their knowlege and still others would love to gain some more. I know to an extent this goes on in "currently listening", but it'd be nice to have a more organised thing, and more people would be likely to give the recommendations a listen?
I don't know, it's just a thought.

Of course, the more obscure the recommendation, the greater the likelihood that no one else will have the album to listen to....
That's the main problem with trying to discuss obscure artists here -- the "conversation" tends to be one-way.
Send me some obscure CDs -- I'll review them for you!

I was thinking along the lines of... other methods of acquiring the music . Strictly for sampling purposes, of course.

You've got to get up pretty early in the morning to get one past our Peter. If fact some say you'd have to stay up all night.
Nice try though Goose.
