band introductions

The Dale Hauskins controversy has me thinking, is it possible to have a special section where new bands which are to new to get a possible listing in the main index could introduce themselves?(as one band is doing now) It could be a special section away from the main forum,in this section new bands could give a short introduction,provide a link(if possible)etc. Conditions could be placed on what they can and cant do,SUGGESTIONS include keep it short,polite,if they have no website supply at least one complete song to download(not 20 second grabs) so forum members can get some idea of what they sound like,perhaps get them to list thier influences so that forum members can see if they have a prog leaning. Some possible problems could be:opening up the section to spamming(music shops slipping in ads etc) and bands not relevent to prog seeing an opportunity to get a plug.I have no idea how this could work(if it could work at all)  and i realise the logistics involved could make it impractical but i would like to know what you think
