Enter 2005! This one's coming shortly after the previous one, which has a clear favorite so far... I do have a feeling that there are three very clear favorites here as well but let's see how it turns out. My vote goes to the incredible release from The Mars Volta. Albums with the most votes from the previous polls: 2000: Porcupine Tree - Lightbulb Sun 2001: Tool - Lateralus 2002: Porcupine Tree - In Absentia 2003: Anekdoten - Gravity 2004: Ayreon - The Human Equation Edited by A Crimson Mellotron - 6 hours 21 minutes ago at 04:09 |

That's a tough one, I could vote for half of these.

it's one of my favorite bands, very consistent, never released a weak album. I'll make a small list of 2005 albums, the 2000s had a ton of great progressive metal.

very hard to go against Deadwing there...
then, it's DT's last great album > Riverside it's funny, because putting the Petrucci aside, I literally don't like any of the others at all!

Music has always been a matter of energy to me. On some nights I believe that a car with the needle on empty can run 50 more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio. Hunter S Thompson

Me too... as you know, Threshold and Vanden Plas are my fave PM bands.. I hope your list has the first Redemption on it... much prefer it to most of them on this list.

Tough one, but Opeth's best album takes the cake (for me).

Deadwing is top 3 Porcupine Tree easily and so gets my vote although Octavarium is my favourite DT album and although Frances The Mute is insanely brilliant, it scares the sh*t out of me!
