Can someone identify the unknown band and album, that I found in a YouTube video. The owner of the video does not answer to any questions, although there are may request to him to name the band on album.
The music is used in several of his videos, no reply to many requests to name the music. I give you a link to the video, that shows many obscure and rare groups and albums, but the music does not match to any of them. The unknown band is heard at the beginning of the video for about 26 minutes. It seems, that the albums consists of only one song perhaps divided into many parts. In the owner's chanel other very obscure and rare music is used: Vita Nova, Live, Maelstrom, McOil, Captain Marryat, Cathedral, Exploit and others. I searched in the "processrock library" and other lists for the music without any success. Also I posted the music in "WatZatSong". Nobody has information about the music. Perhaps someone in the Forum can help. Here is the link to the music: https://youtu.be/sOljbMZmm6w many thanks in advance |

Also, regarding the song you're looking for: I'm 99% sure the band is West German or Dutch judging by the fact the singer sings in English and has an accent. The drum sound to me sounds like a 1974-1978 recording.

That's great! Though it has one of the most un-Prog album covers I've ever seen

Yesterday I started a systematic search in the "progarchives.com" library beginning with letter "A". I'm happy the the bands name does not start with letter "Z". The search could have lasted month.

For some reason, the solving of this particular mystery got me more excited than the solving of the TMS mystery (Like the Wind/FEX - Subways Of Your Mind). :D

Now, that the album is identified as Akropolis, Half A Million Hours Symphony 1979 Denmark, there is much confusion about the order of the movements in this beautiful Progressive Rock Symphonie. I heave bought a CD of it, released by Paisley Press in 2017 and the order of movements matches to text on the CD backside.
1. Overture - Movement 1 (Birth) 2. Movement 2 (Puberty) 3. Movement 3 (Adult Age) 4. Movement 4 (Old Age) 5. Movement 5 (Death) On YouTube there exist one video https://youtu.be/fHKxFW6ij3A that supposedly plays the vinyl record, but the order of the movements is completely different. The order in this video is: 1. Movement 3 (Adult Age) 2. Movement 5 (Death) 3. Movement 4 (Old Age) 4. Movement 2 (Puberty) 5. Overture - Movement 1 (Birth) Is it possible, that the original vinyl LP was pressed in such a senseless mix up of the movements, or did the creator of this video mix up the movements. A comment in that video assumed, the the owner played accidentally side 2 of the vinyl LP first and then the side 1, but that does not explain the order of the movements in that video. Some people take that video as true and believe that my post to WatZatSong, which is identical to the video I posted to you, plays Movement 2 (Puberty). But it is Movement 4 (Old Age) starting with a delay of 26 seconds. My question is: Has someone the original vinyl LP and can confirm, that the original LP has the correct order of movements and that it is the creator of the video who destroyed the logical sense of this beautiful symphony in his video. |

^ I don't have the original vinyl LP myself, but there is one for sale here which confirms the correct order of movements. The album is also available as a CD on that site - the same Paisley Press one that you bought - with exactly the same sequence of movements. The track timings are different between the two issues though, 36:17 for the CD and 35:32 for the LP.
The duration of the Vinyl Record YouTube upload of the CD matches that of the CD for sale on MusicStack exactly, so it appears that all the music is there, but as has been suggested, the running order of that YouTube upload seems to be all mixed up.
