My first choice would be prog related, my second choice would be crossover prog. Annie Haslam is Renaissance's second female singer who debuted on their 1972 album, Prologue. Between 1972 and 1978, Renaissance released 6 highly praised albums, during which period would become known as their classic-era. In 1977, Annie Haslam released debut solo album, Annie in Wonderland, which peaked at number 167 on the billboard's pop albums chart. This album is characterized by a combination of classical and pop elements, within in a progressive scope that allowed her to experiment vocally more than she could with Renaissance. In 1985, Annie collaborated with Louis Clark (known for his work with ELO) and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and released a more traditional pop-oriented album, with a some prog elements remaining. After this, her style deviated to a more contemporary pop and singer-songwriter structure, with minimal to no prog elements left. Thus, this suggestion is really based on her progressive pop debut Annie in Wonderland, as well as her legacy status as Renaissance's main vocalist. She was rejected 3 years ago. https://progfreak.com/Annie-Haslam-174206.html?path=pa/recent Unless she releases a new album, she won't be re-evaluated. In order to be classed as prog related, a Collaborator would need to take up her case with the administrators.

Okay. I thoroughly searched for her here, but couldn't anything, so I didn't think she was evaluated. Thank you. Frankly, I wasn't expecting her to be accepted, but it would have been worth analyzing her, if she weren't already.

As good and eclectic as Annie In Wonderland is, it has only a passing reference to prog, particularly with the song "If I Were Made Of Music". The covers of Going Home and Nature Boy are straight MOR. As much as I like them, they really bring the album down on the prog meter.

it's to her credit that she had a relatively successful solo career that was not built on the back of her Renaissance credentials, but prog it ain't

I suggested Annie Haslam for Crossover Prog too, but sadly, Annie has been rejected here more times than a vegan applying for a job at Burger King.

^ It’s Paul’s attempt at a joke. As you’ve demonstrated by your response, it’s not a particularly funny one. It doesn’t really even make sense, as a vegan would never have the chance to be rejected by Burger King, because they wouldn’t apply to work there in the first place.

I can tolerate the chicken junior sandwich. Ideally this is a place to go if you're a big fan of high blood pressure. The three-card pack of baseball cards they gave out in 1980 when ordering large fries was nice (the cards, not the fries).

As everyone says, she's been suggested and rejected previously a couple of times. Not progressive nor related, a great artist nonetheless.
Thread closed. Thanks.
