   Edvard Munch was a significant influence on the underrecognized Finnish artist Kalervo Palsa. If you're unfamiliar with his work, a lot of it is available here. I particularly enjoy the piece where a man hangs himself on his own penis. He also wrote and drew a hilarious comic book about a necrophiliac sadist which sadly as far as I know hasn't been translated.

This was his studio, where he died of pneumonia. It's in Kittilä, Lapland, where it's cold in the winter without heating.
