I'm pleased to announce that my band Forbidden Planet has just released our debut album, From the Bedroom to Oblivion: Two Decades of Obscurity, on Bandcamp, iTunes, Spotify and Soundcloud. The album launch is accompanied by four music videos that were released over the last two months. We hope you dig what you hear, but thanks in advance for taking the time to listen one way or another :)

iTunes: https://itunes.apple.com/sg/album/from-bedroom-to-oblivion-two/id1058886186

About the band:
Forbidden Planet are a 4-piece instrumental band that are dedicated to boldly exploring the uncharted terrain of genre-bending prog rock. Guided by the maxim “Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law”, Forbidden Planet draw inspiration from the rich and varied musical history of our species to dredge the depths of the subconscious, and to call upon the Monsters from the Id. With an aural salad spanning neo-classical rock, grunge, jazz, ambient and all shades of metal, join Forbidden Planet as they journey into the unknown. Prepare for re-entry.

Hi Adam

Just moved to Singapore and was wondering if there was much of a prog scene here. Is there a favoured location for prog type gigs?
I will check out your music tonight.

Thanks

Hey Zeolite! Welcome to Singapore :) There is a bit of a prog scene here, though I think it's shrunk somewhat in recent years. You can still check out bands like The Simon Yong Band and In Each Hand A Cutlass. Although to be honest... I don't follow the scene that closely. Drop me a line though if you want to hang out and talk music (or Singapore in general), I'm always keen :)

Really good album and great guitar work Thumbs Up By the way, I think it's useful putting links to Facebook and Youtube on Bandcamp... and also, there are no keyboards and trumpet on the credits.

Thanks for checking it out! Good suggestions on putting Bandcamp links as well, much appreciate.

All the keyboards on the album are arranged by me, except for Stop This Ship, which was done by TheFreq. TheFreq was also responsible for that trumpet solo... I think it's samples from the Logic library cut up up and rearranged into the solo.
