I will go for this Polish artist : WITKACY. He was as well gifted for painting as for poetry.

Here are the links for the two paintings (sorry but the site is in polish I think) : http://malarze.com/obrazy/witkacy_kompozycja2.jpg

I also enjoy Derain's paintings, such as the following :

Here is a painting I made myself (achieved entirely with gouache) :

If you like it, please let me know.

Yeah, there it is...Nice one...I'm really jealous now, because I really can't paint...I just use Photoshop...

Today I had a little time off and could make this image...don't ask what it should be, just played with some light effects and some new brushes...

and a simple one, 10 minutes work:

Good work, Diddy! The first image could be perfect for a Fates Warning or Dream Theater cover. The second one reminds me of an Escher's painting : "Rippled surface".

I like expressionism : do you know Franz Marc (der Blaue Reiter) or August Macke (fantastic colors in their compositions). I also like dadaism, and especially Dali, his works are so unique and there is an oneiric feel to them.

Here is a painting by Macke (Lady in a green jacket) :
