When else am I going to use the thumbs down icon other than expressing my dislike for an artist or album?

When someone behaves inappropriately for example. Also you have expressed your dislike through words, there's no need for the emoticon, it's redundant. |

I really don’t like anything metal-related. I just can’t get into it. No prob with old school heavy rock though….

what do you mean by "old school heavy rock"? Is it Sabbath, Heep and Purple? Budgie, High Tide and Rainbow?

Well, I would never give any of your posts the thumbs down. That would be rude. ![]() To be honest, I wouldn't have bought Dream Theater's Train of Thought if I'd listened to the album first.

I couldn't tell you the exact year but I remember buying Train of Thought before 2010, when I first went online. Even now, I often buy albums without hearing them first, but that's usually because they only cost £1 from a charity shop or car boot sale, so I don't have much to lose.

You could still listen to it somewhere online. I remember listening to Systematic Chaos somewhere and to this day it's one of the least favorite DT albums for me, glad I didn't buy it before listening.

Until I first went online in 2010, I had no idea you could listen to music on the Internet, mainly because I still thought You Tube was the name of a TV show. ![]() Not surprisingly, I'm no fan of Dream Theater's Systematic Chaos album either, although I'll resist the temptation to give it a thumbs down.

I prefer Systematic Chaos more than Train of Thought, The Astonishing, Octavarium, self titled, or A View from the Top of the World.

Over The Astonishing, yes, i agree, as for the rest, not quite. I still need to listen to the new one some more. I enjoyed Distance Over Time a lot more.

I must have led a sheltered life. ![]() In my defence though, there were no full albums on YouTube in 2010 - videos were still limited to 15 minutes duration back then.

No, i like prog metal. I was a metal fan first before i was into any prog music. Got into Arena in 2004, got into Savatage in 2006, into Threshold and Dreamscape in 2007. Then eventually gave classic prog rock goes.

I still find that hard to believe. It's still 2010, not the 90s or early 2000s.

If it is bullets we are talking about while saying "progressive metal"s, I surely stay away from them. If I had the powers of Neo though, I could stop them.
![]() Did I say Neo? I missed our Neo-Prog discussions with Paul. I was using a different account then, though. Edited by Archisorcerus - May 12 2022 at 07:12 |
