Kayak - Royal Bed Bouncer. One of my favourite albums but doesn't seem to register in most people's minds.

Mirthrandir - "For You The Old Women" 1976 - greatly underrated and vastly obscured, being however true masterpiece of 70's american prog scene
4/3 de trio - "Ersatz" 2002 - this is an absolute masterpiece of modern prog and to me this is the best album of this millenium so far

in my opinion savatage have many greater albums than poets and madmen.
albums like gutter ballet, edge of thorns, dead winter dead and hall of
the mountain king are all masterpieces of progressive metal.

Hooray! Pudding en Gisteren owns them both though.
As for obscure albums that I think
should get more attention... well, I could list for hours. Wouldn't be
much point doing so. Just read my reviews on this website!

Bo Hansson is sadly always overlooked. Check out ' Magician's Hat' and the epic ' Attic Thoughts'.For the life of me I cannot understand why people ignore this exceptional talent from Sweden. There again I am equally perplexed why people rate Dream Theater and Radiohead so highly!

I think Rare Bird's 'Rare Bird' and 'As Your Mind Flies By' are two of the greatest prog albums ever, and deserve as much credit as all the more well known albums and bands.
Also, the Rare Bird spinoff 'Fields' is a wonderful album with great melodies and keyboard work.
Cressida's two albums are both masterpieces, and Raw Material's 'Time Is' is also a great listen (the first album is very good too but a little flawed in parts).
Man's '2 Ozs Of Plastic With A Hole In The Middle' (Man are surely the best prog band not to be in the archives now...) is a lost classic too, with the wondrous 9 minute 'Prelude/The Storm', and their 'Rhinos Winos And Lunatics' album is a masterpiece of 70s progressive tinged rock.
Gravy Train's first two albums are also excellent- Tull esque heavy prog rock.
I must also mention one of my favourite bands, Magnum, who made a whole run of melodic progressive tinged albums, of which the best is 'Chase The Dragon', in my opinion- a really heavy album with tons of great keyboards solos, and wonderful singing by Bob Catley.

Everything by Psychotic Waltz, particularly A Social Grace. It's one of
the best prog metal albums of all time, but nobody seems to have heard
of it.
Also, Shadow Gallery doesn't get as much recognition as they deserve.
Everyone should listen to Tyranny and the recently released sequel,
Room V.
