The first of five albums from German Space Rock band, The Cosmic Jokers. Bizarrely, all five albums were released in the same year of 1974.

The First Space Rock album from the German Krautrock band GURU GURU before they later merged into a funky Jazz-Rock combo. Smile

This is the second Space Rock album from the German Krautrock band, Guru Guru. Just try and ignore the dreadful album cover - recently voted one of the worst prog album covers of all time on ProgArchives. Smile

Hi,

Guru Guru ... There is a live album from 70/71 I think that is the very definition of "space rock" ... and its free form stuff in it is insane ... and those 3 are my favorites of theirs although Dance of the Flames is excellent (though not space rock per se) and Tango Fango is jazzier if you will, but in the end, it has one of the most important pieces of music ... and what turned GG on ... it's also a satire on the music difference between East and West Germany at the time!
Music is not just for listening ... it is for LIVING ... you got to feel it to know what's it about! Not being told!

To me Hawkwind is the only spacerock band I love. Always thought Brainticket, Agitation & Guru Guru are Kraut bands, but of course have lots of space elements...

I like all of those bands you mentioned, with Agitation Free being my all-time favourite Space Rock band, followed closely by the Cosmic Jokers.

I like really much also Agitation Free, although when talking about Kraut bands Faust, Can and Amon Düül II is more favorite to me. Not care much about Brainticket & Guru Guru.

Hi,

10CC had even more ... check out "Hotlegs" and the single that was a hit for a bit ... or if you have the stomach for it ... Neil Sedaka!

Guy's show, even today, HAS NEVER BEEN one for the hits ... so you got to hear a lot of things from various albums with 10CC ... so in the middle of this and that you would get Baron Samedi ... and maybe later ... Play Me ... or Rubber Bullets ... you just do not get those kind of selections, EVEN TODAY, by anyone, because they do not listen to the albums ... they only know a song or two ... but the rest of SHEET MUSIC is a fantastic album, and WSShuffle is not the most exciting song in the mix!

I don't think that most folks realize ... when a show is NOT about the hits ... and Guy had ALL OF the "krautrock" right from the start I still have the albums! All of them!), and even included the fun stuff from the Cosmic Jokers/Couriers. Even nowadays, no one even bothers listening to it to get an even better understanding of the whole thing.

that's almost as surprising as The Enid being the backing band on Kim Wilde's single "Kids in America".
