ASDF, update broke server. Balls.

//EDIT: Can someone with Terraria check and see if their server software is 1.1.2 or 1.1.1? Mine was still 1.1.1 when it went to update, so...

I fixed it. Maybe. Should be able to connect again.

//EDIT: Murdered the Destroyer. Just stood in one place with my 76 defense (Adamantite armor, 5 Warding accessories including 2 defense from Obsidian Shield, and Ironskin potion) and my trusty old Night's Edge and whacked away until he bit it. Had to dig a big hole to get to his drops, though. LOL

Now proud owner of a new Legendary Excalibur. Should make the second go a bit smoother.

OK, so I've pretty much beat Terraria now. Got all the Souls of Might gear, all the Souls of Fright gear, and I've killed the Twins 3 times. I killed The Destroyer 3 times in one night (and had time enough to do it a fourth time if I had another mechanical worm) and I killed Skeletron Prime once and The Twins twice in one night, all solo. Unreal Megashark makes things a bit too easy. Need to mine more materials to finish making all the endgame gear (also have to farm up more cursed flames to make more bullets), but there's not much else to do except expand my castle and hunt up obnoxiously-rare drops like the Moon Charm.

Anyone else tried the Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning demo yet? Fans of action-RPGs a-la Fable would likely enjoy it. Some questionable decisions made with regard to porting, though. Instead of using a spell by hitting the corresponding hotkey, you just equip it and then have to right click to actually cast it. Yes, extra button press for no reason at all. Score. Also, the game sacrifices depth for each weapon for quantity of weapons. There are 9 weapon classes, but some weapons have all of 3 or 4 moves -- generic button-mash combo and two or three other specific one-step moves.

Twins were the hardest of the bosses, I found.  The damn mouth one and its cursed fire, makes me rage.  Destroyer takes about 30 seconds and can barely even hurt you, lol

My first go at the Twins was pathetic. Didn't bring enough ammo and tried to fight vertically, which meant that I missed a lot of shots, got hit a lot, and didn't deal nearly as much damage as I should have. Ultimately ran out of ammo, too, and had to finish Retinazer the old-fashioned way. Second and third runs, I fought the battle horizontally, and they were cake. Skeletron Prime is hard to screw up, but he at least deals some damage along the way. But yeah, the Destroyer is the most comically-weak opponent in hardmode. 80,000 HP, but I can deal about 2000 DPS by standing in one place and holding the attack button on my Excalibur while he deals 1 damage per hit. Bet I could make it even faster if I stacked some buffs, like werewolf, beer, and food.

You know, I was about to ask where you got all the stars to make mana potions before I realized that the Wizard sells greater mana potions for 5 silver.

Maybe I'll try making a Warding Mana Flower and use Crystal Storm myself.

I finished Deus Ex: Human Revolution. Really enjoyed how it ended (three more endings to experience, too)

Just tried it. Pretty painful, TBH. I'll stick with my Megashark. The ammo may be hard to come by, but it's much more effective. Maybe by stacking buffs, the crystal storm method could be effective (Soup + magic power potion + crystal ball is like +35% magic damage, +3% magic crit), but with the Megashark, all I do is walk backwards pumping ammo into them and 2 minutes later, they're meat.

Really? Note: Spoilers, highlight to read:

Most people, myself included, were pretty disappointed with the ending. The videos were all well-spoken, but come on, man, that's it? Press one of four buttons, watch the video justifying your decision for you, then roll credits? That's not an ending at all!

Since I suck at it, it took me 10 hours of playing The Binding of Isaac to finally beat Mom once. LOL

Isaac is pretty tough.  It took my girlfriend nearly 10 hours before she beat it the first time.  I got lucky and got an amazing run of items and beat it around the 3 hour mark and then gave up forever because I knew it was a fluke lol.

Also, I beat it back before it was patched to include more levels after Mom (originally it ended after the first time you face Mom) but now I understand that you fight her again and then you have to fight the Devil or something?

It seems that way, yeah.  I didn't get that far yet though.

I got lucky with my items on the playthrough I beat her on, too.  I originally had 9 hearts and 4 armor, then I made 2 deals with the devil (higher damage and split shot), got 2 other damage up items and a couple attack speed power ups...worked out well.

I thought the video endings for Human Revolution were fantastic, although different gameplay endings (IE having to do different actual endings (in gameplay) would've been nicer. Worst thing about that game was the bosses, although they were done out of studio (not that I wish to justify them; they were f**king horribe) and the AI is pretty bad too. Other than that, still an amazing game.

Just finished Prince Of Persia: The Forgotten Sands. Ubisoft promised me a game with the same spirit of the previous Prince of Persia titles from last console gen (which were fantastic) but instead I got a 4 hour button mashing fest. Nicest thing I can say about it is that some of the platforming was cool. Pretty terrible game to be honest.

I agree that it was a bit too bare on the actual decisions > consequences scale, but I still greatly enjoyed the overall plot arc and how it meshed with the introduction to the original Deus Ex.

Really enjoying the flow and essence of Batman: Arkham Asylum, too. Can't say which one I prefer. Both are keepers in my book.

The Binding of Isaac is much easier for me playing as Cain, it seems.

Arkham City is a pretty top notch sequel, I thought it would stray too much from the original.

No it is not free, but it was only a dollar during the steam sale and it was part of Humble Indie Bundle 4, so a lot of people have it. Although you could have googled that.

It also took me 11 hours to beat Mom the first time, then shortly after I killed her with Cain, who really is the best character. I came close to killing her again with some other runs (the most painful was dying with Judas actually to Mom's Heart), but finally ragequit at around 21 hours when I died in the womb on what was otherwise a fantastic run with Magdalene because I pushed my luck too hard on a blood machine that didn't pay out.

Terraria seriously has the least helpful tutorial segment ever. It would have been better if they had just dropped you in the forest with a pickaxe and axe and told you to have an adventure, because then I would have known that I really had to look online to understand it and not wasted so much time.
if you own a sodastream i hate you
