Oh well. Why are they in your tp ten if you hate them?

James used to love them.

I still love my top ten, I think... But I've been using it for less than a year.

Because they were half-decent.  I always preferred the debut over everything else.  I never got to hear BE though.  Scarsick was released and I hate it.  I've managed to only hear them a few times since then.

I don't hate their early stuff so much.  I'm mostly indifferent about it now.  They still have some good songs.  However they just sound mostly cheesy to me now.

Tastes change.

I used to like Deadwing... what the hell was I drinking?

So at this point I'd have scrobbled millions of songs by bands I don't like at all. I'm sure I could disable the scrobbler to test a band, but then I'd feel like I'm cheating.

The point of Last.fm is to track everything you listen to, not everything you like.

I 'discovered' zeuhl a little bit ago. I listened to every single Magma album in one day. It was enough to say I'll never love Magma. Its funny, though, that one of my favorite Magma records was Merci (though obviously inferior to the critical darling 'MDK'). I'd never give them "5/5" on any record, or whatever it takes to explain my feelings. I actually couldn't stand the two newest ones, and my all time favorite Magma album is their very first. It seemed fresher. After two or three albums I totally stopped giving a f**k about kobaian, the chanting, the repetitive martial rhythms, the jazz boinging, the bass-driven whatever. I stopped caring. I stopped caring about the ambient motifs, the foreign language, and the opera wailings.

Magma grow with age though.

And MDK isn't their best album.

You missed my comment.

I said I still like some of their stuff.  And last 2?  I've not heard anything since Scarsick.  I heard that terrible Road Salt One (the track) though.  Blech!

Oh and that was full of some fail.  Not everything they've released is full of jazz and the rhythmic stuff.  I don't mean Merci or the debut either.

In fact, oddly, Emehntehtt-Ré is one of their less-rhythmic albums and you seem to hate it more.  Haha.

It's cool, I just thought it was horrid.
Not to mention Scarsick.

And BE is not bad, but it's not too great. So really they are going on 2ish albums now. My faith in them is probably dashed forever.
Ah well

Oh and you couldn't of stopped caring that much otherwise you'd not have made a comment about not caring. Tongue

Why did you think Road Salt One was awful? I understand Scarsick - there was some ol' bullsh*t in there.

So you listened to them all in one day and not more than once?

Nice way to judge a band's discography.

I'm not saying you'd change your opinion with further listens though.  You know what you like and you know what you hate.

So I can understand the turn-off.
