A Happy New Year to all!  Let's hope it's a good one, without any fear.

2013 was very eventful for the newly reunited British progrockers Flash...

1. with their new release, "Flash Featuring Ray Bennett & Colin Carter";

2. lots of good reviews, including the #6 spot on a 2013 TOP TEN list from Music St. Journal's Gary Hill;

3. TOP BAND and ALBUM for Dec. 2013 in Brazil's "Prog Rock & Prog Metal" E-zine

4.  the discovery of a VINYL RELEASE of their '72 debut album, "Flash" with the ORIGINAL GATEFOLD COVER from Friday Music;

5. and the whopping discovery that all the vintage Flash music (except the Friday Music vinyl release) has been stolen and reissued, including a release of a rare, complete concert recording from 1973. (I guess theft is also a form of flattery! But the Universal Music Group which owns the copyrights isn't impressed.)

2014 is going to be interesting and exciting!

For details, visit the Flash facebook pagehttp://www.facebook.com/FlashFeaturingRayBennettColinCarter—where you can discuss all the latest news and photos, ask questions, and talk with the band.

Cheers, all..
Sherry

the debut vinyl original copies are cheap and abundant!! why a reissue of the first and not a viny edition of the 2013 album?

Don't know much about this, but the Friday Music release is a "180 gram audiophile" version—new, of course, and is listed at $24.98.  http://fridaymusic.hasawebstore.com/product/INS110304/flash180gramaudiophilevinyl

Where are you finding the original gatefold cheap and in good condition?  For how much?

As for the new Flash album on vinyl, I'd love it.  Only time will tell...

Yes, for a couple of years, anyway.  If you want vinyl, let Cleopatra know.

You can read a discussion of the theft of Flash's music here:

Until further notice, the only legal Flash material available at the moment is the Friday Music vinyl release:

And the new "Flash Featuring Ray Bennett & Colin Carter":

Our last word was that Cleopatra was planning vinyl releases of all three vintage studio Flash albums.

That may have been before they knew about the Friday Music 2012 vinyl release of "Flash", and that was also before Flash's insistence that they contact the true copyright holder, Universal Music Group, to properly license any future (and their past) releases of that material.
