Great news, but what's the betting that Squire has it postponed until May 2013 for some reason?

I was thinking Steve Hackett and Squarepusher when I saw the title, which would be seriously ridiculous and probably wonderful.

I don't like Hackett's last two releases. They feature all the worst tendencies of his music, none of the feeling or urgency of his early work (and too much damn layering of vocals). The latest Yes album is serviceable, but Squire is associated with some drek outside Yes recently. Overall I am not expecting much out of the partnership.
Hey, if its anything like Spectral Morning or Fish Out Of Water, I'll eat my words. |

Isn't it great these two legends can sit down in a room, put out an album together and not really give a rats ass if anyone likes it or not. Go for it

Haven't the idea of this project been around for years?
Anyway, it's good that a release date is finally set. Not sure if I'm really looking forward to the collaboration but I might just take those words back come May. |

Been around and recorded years ago---delayed in true Squire fashion--(BTW-he says it's the best thing he's ever done and his parts were going to be his 2nd solo album) And then Yes album came around then they took several months looking for a record deal. Anyway--it seems the two are friends and like each other (unlike Howe and Hackett who did not) I'll get the record but I don't have any great hope it will be great.

I recall Squire mentioned he was doing a CD with SH back in 2007... I, like you hope it is more like Spectral Morning or Fish Out Of Water. Chis' SwissChoir Christmas was very oldschool and quite good. Here's to hoping!
Cheers,

Thanks for the heads up! Sounds promising, better than "Conspiracy." I'd like to see Squire succeed in a project outside of Yes, better late than never.

As a huge Hackett fan--I'm surprised at much it sounds like a Hackett album----and also how Squire's voice is rather low in the mix. The album has many Hackett people involved.

My thoughts exactly - but this is based on 3 minutes worth of samples.
