Imagine if it were the other way around and a conservative mayor told a pro-gay establishment that they weren't welcome in his state. I think you'd all agree how wrong that would be. This is no different.

I've never understood exactly what "African-American culture" is. I do however wonder when blacks and other minorities will tire of the collectivist pandering. |

There is a reason that it is a Cardinal sin for businesses to express political views on positions that don't directly impact their business. Maybe strategically this will increase business as all the religious fanatics that support this point of view might flock to their establishments as a result, but the flipside is that you risk pissing off all of the supporters of the other side of coin.
I am pretty certain that I have never eaten at a Chic-fil-a. I'm pretty certain that there are none in Michigan or at the least in my neck of the woods, and I don't recall having ever eaten at one while I was down south..

The question that really matters is: how good are that place's fast food offers?

In my view, they beat KFC by a mile and a half. Great food (and milkshakes!) consistently competent and friendly employees and clean dining rooms. |

I'm gonna eat wherever I want. I mean, why the hell would I want Chick-Fil-A though when Cane's chicken is close by? That's basically the better version anyway.

Here's what I don't understand. A significant portion of your taxes go towards bombing civilians in other countries, yet people will ask for higher taxes and complain when people fail to pay their share. A probably insignificant portion (I'm not going to look the numbers up so I am making an assumption with the insignificant part here) of your food purchase goes towards lobbying against same-sex marriage. Now people will never buy a chicken sandwich again.
If you're insane and want to act like those two things equate in terms of gross immorality, then at least Chick-fil-a offers good service and pleasant people while they ravage the masses. |

I'm not sure what "African-American culture" is but I'm still trying to figure out what "white guilt" means. But, I can't spend a lot of time on these two questions because lately I've been trying to understand what the Mexicans in my part of the world want.
I was already working on being more sympathetic to the demands of the GLBTs. Since that's kind of a mixed group I had to start somewhere so I decided on young attractive lesbians. Since I don't want to discriminate, I expanded to include mature attractive lesbians.

So, bigotry is okay if it tastes good?

I don't think it's bigotry to oppose gay marriage, even though I support it.

Yea- we spend our tax money on bigotry all the time. I don't see a problem with buying their food. I ALREADY SUPPORT MUCH MORE TERRIBLE THINGS JUST BY LIVING IN THIS COUNTRY AND PAYING TAXES.

You support bigotry and nasty things every time you purchase anything. There's a tradeoff involved. People can decide for themselves what causes they support and how. My problem is that people have overreacted to this story because something which ubiquitously happens has been thrust to the front of their awareness. Libertarians always get accused of throwing the baby out with the bath water for what I would view as much more serious moral ineptitude on the part of the government. I'm now reciprocating that criticism. |

You (presumably from your statement) only chose to pay taxes under threat and duress. I wouldn't say you support it. |

Oh- I guess that's less depressing. I usually think of it that I choose to support it by continuing to live here.
