Out of what I've heard from these, Mike Ratledge definitely.

Weird poll! Where are Wakeman, Kaye, Emerson, Moraz, Lord, Varga, Hensley? |
O.K., Wakeman and Emerson were omitted in your question "for obvious reasons".
But what about Fripp and Jones e.g.? Keyboards are their additional instruments only...

Dear brother, your vote is really difficult. Well, I'm going to realize my classification, so. 1. Kerry Minnear 1. Tim Blake 1. Mike Ratledge 2. George Duke 2. David Sinclair 2. Dave Stewart 2. Brian Eno 3. Rick Wright 3. Hugh Banton 3. Herbie Hancock last. Vangelis
what's more : Patrice Lemoine Mike Melvion Joie Hinton Tom Charlier (...)

It was Keith Emerson, the for a week it was John Evans, then it was Kerry Minnear for a really long time, and yesterday I heard Atomic Rooster's Gershatzer, and Vincent Crane became my favorite, and I don't believe it will change any time soon!

I would know why in this list are not great keyboardists like Tony Banks, Rick Wakeman, Peter Bardens, Rick Davies, Keith Emerson, Jean Michel Jarre, and many others.
So my favourtie is Tony Banks, but on this list I will go with Rick Wright

Vangelis
honourable mentions not on the list (and not Emerson,Wakeman or Banks)
Dave Greenslade
Rod Argent
Mike Pinder
Patrick Moraz
Mark Kelly
Nick Magnus
Jean Michel Jarre
Edgar Froese
Richard Barbieri
Jon Lord
Tony Banks
Martin Orford
Matt Bellamy
Rob Reed
Par Lindh
Neal Morse
Sorry but the poll is a crap list. John Paul Jones ahead of these shows a basic lack of knowledge of prog keyboard players. Something that has been prevailant around here for a long time and is very annoying.

John Evans (his given name). Very talented, and overshadowed by Wakeman and Emerson back in the day.A joy to watch performing live too.

Wright? The guy who just presses three few keys for 10 minutes?

Good to know! Vincent Crane is one hell-of an Organ player, and a nice piano player.

RICK WRIGHT: Maybe he wasn't a virtuous player but he was a great creator of musical atmospheres with his keyboards, maybe in a way that anyone else did.

Well from that list it would be Kerry Minnear. I actually would have been interested in seeing how Banks, Emerson and Wakeman faired against each other. But alas.

but they're all among my favourites, with the possible exception of (sorry) Vangelis.
Thanks for your votes |
Sorry, I didn´t see the note (about Banks, Wakeman and Emerson), but you omitted many others far better than many that are in the list
