HANDLINGNOISE might be a bit too post-rock influenced instead of Indie-Rock, but they have a shoegazey feel to them.

I might be clutching at straws though here.

I actually have Steve. I've browsed a couple of tunes, but not really enough to really establish a firm interest. They're a fantastic band though. Smile What else would recommend from them, specifically for that Shoegaze/ Ambient approach?

Again, casual fan of these guys, but I've never really thought of them as Shoegaze.

I'm almost feeling something like My Bloody Valentine meets Neu!. All the shimmering effects and atmosphere, but with a rockin motorik beat in the back.

They're definitely not "pure shoegaze", but I do get that vibe at points.
Maybe I'm wrong.

What's a SP album that'd you say the shoegaze element is prevalent then? Never heard a full album.

I don't know about the new 'shoegazer' bands but i always liked The Cocteau Twins ..one of the originals.

I was going to suggest the Cocteau Twins also, Heaven or laz vegas is a great album. I guess the MBV are an obvious choice. Other shoegaze bands that might do some more ambient stuff might include Chapterhouse, Slowdive and my favourites, Ride.

You might like Stereolab.

The album "Transient Random-Noise Bursts with Announcements" might be right up your alley. I rather like it.

RYM describes it as
Krautrock, Indie Pop, Post-Rock, Shoegaze
which I guess covers it LOL

Sounds almost like Stereolab at times, heh.

I love shoegaze a lot. Loveless is my favourite album of all time, and Souvlaki by Slowdive and Nowhere by Ride are also masterpieces. Other bands I love are Galaxie 500 and Catherine Wheel. There's also a group called Sweet Trip that mixes shoegaze, glitch, IDM, and ambient dream pop. Really strange combo and they don't often do it all at once, but I like them.

Big Stereolab here. Smile That's basically what I was basing that description on. LOL I just love that sound. If I could find more bands like that.

Maybe not exactly what you're looking for, but what the hey.  Here's some of my favorites.

"We're an American Band" (album version) - probably my favorite song of theirs

"And the Glitter is Gone" (live performance for Pitchfork Media - wwooowwww) - extended freakout

"Sugarcube"  (hilarious music video) - fuzzed-out dream pop

"Moby Octopad" (very Stereolabby track)

And this song might best fit your "Ambient Shoegaze" tag,

"More Stars Than There Are in Heaven"

I could go on all night, but that should give you an idea what they can do.
