is there any criteria other than the amount of posts you have placed/replied to that is involved in determining your status as a memeber of the site? the whole 1 star, 2 star, and so on thing?

Yes, all collaborators get 5 stars, no matter how many posts they have.

You'll get three at 100 posts, after that the only way to increase is by becoming a collaborator, i think you can do that if you write lots of reviews and then ask m@x to make you one.

There are many ways to collaborate. There is a section of the forum devoted to that but it generally involves some writing about the bands in the Archives section. So many artist are yet not filled with a proper introduction text. Writing some reviews for other albums than the classic ones is another way to collaborate.

You could also become a Sugar Daddy by sprinkling some dough to the admins. I do not know how financially viable this site is, especially with the enormous bandwidth some of those pictures threads take.

Check up in the Collaborator section of the forum, and Suggestions.
