This is a wicked cool site where you can find literally hundreds of new prog bands.  It also has a search feature where you can search for bands that sound like other better known bands.  Scroll down and choose "bands that sound like..." and than type in a well known band.  Tangerine Dream turned in more than 100 results.  A few random samples sounded really good to me after doing this.  The link above is to the prog rock main page on the site.
