Please vote for one album in the poll that is known and enjoyed, and mention it in a post.

This is part two for the 1960s. Here is part one: CLICK HERE and CLICK HERE for the chart

Someone once asked to see the Proto-Prog and Prog-Related charts for PA which is not included by default in the charts nor is available in the filters on the chart page. I played with the subgenre filters and manually adding subgenre numbers to find the Prog Related and Proto-Prog charts and how to combine them with the other filters. Since seeing the Proto-Prog and Prog Related options are not automatic, I thought it might be interesting to do polls that that do show albums from all of the categories at PA. I started with the top 25, and here is the the next 25. I also want to do the next 25.

To me this list is much more interesting than the top 25, with more variety and more of my favourites, and other faves of mine make the next 25.

East of Eden, Family, The United States of America, Amon Duul II, Pink Floyd, The Pentangle the Pretty Things, Can and Terry Riley are all amongst my very favourite albums. And I really like OS Mutantes, Arthur Brown, Jimi Hendrix, Miles Davis and others.

I will go with East of Eden, but I could have as easily gone with various others I listed. Such an exciting time for music.

I find this interesting and hope some others find some value in seeing the list and trying to choose from it too.

Piper! Back in the 1960s, Prog Archives was a 1955 Marmon-Herrington trolley bus that drove around humming the Doctor Who theme song.

Can over Amon Duul II.
I feel like I would normally pick ADII here, but that Monster Movie record is right at, or near the top of my favourite Can albums. I'm such a fan of Malcom, preferring him to Damo actually. This is perfect from start to finish. Love the Delay '68 album as well.

Very good list indeed! I think it's between East of Eden, Can, and Amon Duul II, but I love many more albums here, Rubber Soul, Piper, Soft Machine, United States of America, Freak Out, Sketches of Spain. Will vote for East of Eden.
