^ Wow!
I heard he was ill on the broadcast this weekend...but I didn't realize it was that serious.
A staple of the old Speed network. Knowledgeable, fun, and at broadcasting.

I know. I grew up watching him on TBS and TNN. Kind of weird to think that he's gone now. I felt the same way (and even more so, in some regards) when Benny Parsons passed away.
Great race, and great, first ever, win for Josef Newgarden!
Had a great start, made some passes, and pretty much never gave up the lead once he got it. Awesome stuff for the kid some think may have F1 potential next year.
Superb drive for Graham Rahal who went on a new tire and fuel tear, 2-3 seconds a lap gaining and blowing by people, but was just a few laps too late. Power finishes 4th after being penalized for his boneheaded move, and RHR manages 5th after starting 18th. Great all around!
Shame for JPM who was plagued with issues, and Helio who had a certain top 4 and possible podium finish dashed by running out of fuel.

Good day of racing overall yesterday with winners that I actually don't mind at all. Kurt Busch's win actually had me cheering, and I never thought I'd be so happy for him to win. The guy has his issues, but it really seems like NASCAR jumped the gun on his suspension involving the possible domestic dispute with him and his ex GF and it almost completely ruined any chance of him continuing with his career. It just felt like a giant middle finger right back at NASCAR for it.

Barber was great, some of the best racing I've seen from the indycars at this track, a fair amount of passing (at least where I've sat the last few years outside of turn 17) where the usually wasn't that much, some pretty crazy driving the first 30 - 40 minutes, going three wide down the front stretch.
Graham Rahal was flying there at the end, wouldn't have mind it had he won, he more than deserves another win. Still glad to see Newgarden get his first win though, he blew everyone away most of the race.

WEC at Spa tomorrow. Big crash yesterday bewteen Nakajima's Toyota and Oliver Jarvis Audi when Kazuki was unsighted in the rain and ran into the back of the Audi which had only just come out of the pits. Kaz has fractured vertebrae and may even miss Le Mans as well.
Hulkenberg is doing a good job for Porsche, helping the car to second on the grid.

Glad to see Newgarden finally get his first win and Graham driving exceptionally hard and passing cars on the outside. Just like his father, Mario. And why does it always rain during a race in Japan?

Those ARCA races....always the spectacular crash they make...
And what a wreck it was. That had to be quite terrifying. Thank god the safer barrier was actually in place there.

Well, that 'Dega race was just terrible. Great for the first 150 or so laps, and then a single file parade to the finish with Jr. pulling off a win, if only because he had his teammate blocking the last two laps. That may have just ruined my day.

^ Yes, that was terribly disappointing.
