Listened to this on progstreaming today and it definitely needs to be here.
http://www.progstreaming.com/_wb/pages/play-album.php?activeAlbum=00607%20-%20Ampledeed%20-%20A%20Is%20For%20Ampledeed

From their web site:
"Stop Crying! Ampledeed is here! To Stay!
Conceived in the practice rooms of Cal State University Northridge and flavored with Grapes & Nuts from the music studios of California University of the Arts, Ampledeed is a compositional studio group with a rich and creamy musical background.  Though the band's influences are rooted in the progressive rock genre, it is difficult to define such a varied yet cohesive sound.  Ampledeed specializes in grooves that boast rock and metal flare with jazz-influenced harmonies, maintaining balance and accessibility whilst combining the diverse and complex. Although a compositional trio, many great musicians are featured on the group's work, showcasing many musical personalities throughout the music. Ampledeed enjoys flavoring their music and lyrics with a tongue placed firmly in their collective cheek, though they are quite serious when it comes to melting faces."

I don't know if its streaming anywhere else, so please listen before it leaves progstreaming.

(One of the band members has posted here a couple of times, so perhaps he has more to add.)

Vocalist and keyboardist Aaron Goldich has another band, who are already here (in Crossover) called The Source. Kinesis are selling both The Source and Ampledeed's CDs (look for the Ampledeed link in the list of bands on the left hand side of the page: http://www.kinesiscd.com/storeframe1.htm): and their description is as follows: "How active The Source is now is not known, but Aaron Goldich has another band called Ampledeed. A Is for Ampledeed (2013, mini-LP sleeve) retains some of the sound of The Source but goes for greater complexity while maintaining accessibility, shifting toward a Canterbury style".

The band is essentially a three-piece, but use a number of guest musicians too.

https://www.facebook.com/Ampledeed, from where the following bio is taken:

"Ampledeed began as a series of late night jam sessions at Cal Arts College, in Southern California. Guitarists, horn players, keyboard players, percussionists and dancers would all meet up in the practice rooms, dance studios, art studios, in the main gallery, or wherever else we could get away with playing obscenely loud music, to work on our chops and improvisation skills. Players included Wyl...ie Cable, Aaron Goldich, Max Taylor, Luis Flores, David Gillooly, Will Krepple, Colin Kupka, Spencer Ludwig, and many others. After many months of utilizing the Angeles Crest and the Mojave desert as rehearsal spaces, using gasoline generators to power our instruments, the group's creative forces split up to pursue seperate musical directions. Aaron Goldich, Max Taylor, and Luis Flores continued to hone riffage, reconstruct tunes and compose entirely new sections, and in time, recorded nearly an entire album, with the help of Isaac Watts (from The Source) on drums, and Cody Farwell (Snorlax) on Bass guitar. Currently, Goldich, Taylor and Luis are working to finish recording and mixing Ampledeed's debut record, "A Is For Ampledeed".

There are quite a few good reviews on the web for this album (you can find them via facebook or the band's website), and the Canterbury influence is mentioned in several of them. Being as there are so few suggestions for Canterbury these days, I wondered if it might be worth asking that team to check this band out first? They certainly have less of a backlog than Eclectic, at least! Tongue

Edit: The band was added to progfreak by Uwe (Rivertree) a couple of months back: http://progfreak.com/Ampledeed-157771.html, but no PA section exists for them on that site. I can't believe that he discovered this band without passing them on to a team for evaluation, so there is a very good chance (certainty in fact, I would think) that this band is already under evaluation in one of the subs that don't use progfreak (ie Eclectic, or maybe Canterbury?)

I have submitted the band to the Canterbury team last October, though nothing has happened 'til now ...

Thanks Uwe. Thumbs Up

Now that there is a full album released and available in its entirety for listening, I would imagine that the addition should be fairly swift. It's a mighty fine debut indeed! Approve

Maybe you could bump the topic in the team thread if you haven't already done so, and they haven't picked up on the album's availability?

Oh. I see only now this thread. I've already proposed this band on December the 17th sending an e-mail to [email protected] but I'm still waiting an answer. Unhappy Yesterday I wrote a PM to Canterbury team but I had no answer. Great band however... Hope it could be added.

The Canterbury page on PA just lists Steve (HolyMoly) as a team member. He is pretty active around these parts it must be said - being also a member of the RIO/Avant/Zeuhl team, so he should fill us in fairly promptly regarding the evaluation, I would think.

I only recently became the Canterbury guy, so I'll be glad to evaluate now that I know about this - thanks for the heads up!

Anyone have any samples?  They don't seem to be on progstreaming anymore.  PM me if you can help.
