ClapClap

listen.. I'm a dumb sh*t when it comes to this computer stuff... how about leveling with us with the costs .. and just what the ads bring in...  I can be persuasive and an effective fundraiser...

you can contact me in private if you wish....I have been a bit of a proponent of this... I can take the bull by the horns so to speak.  We can talk about it if you interested ...

I think maybe a PayPal donation system could work.  Obviously not everyone is with PayPal, so maybe some additional donation method could be used as well.

Re M@x's post at the bottom of the previous page, please use this thread:
to discuss the funding of the site.

Please continue to use this thread to discuss the malware. Those who have experienced the bug, have you come across it since M@x''s post?

Oh Yes, many times! I just press cancel cancel cancel and then close the window...and then I'm out of PA, but I can start it again and then it doesn't appear. But the site it redirects me to is: www.schijfbewaker.com. The initial culprid though seems to be http://newbieadguide.com/statsg.php?u=23423424&campaign=remain0r

So it also happens outside of UK and America, since I'm from the Netherlands

As I wrote in another thread, in the past few days I've come across an Italian malware site called ToolSicuro (http://toolsicuro.com), which Italian PC users have been warned against in several IT discussion boards over the web. Of course, after having removed the cookie and cleaned the temporary Internet files, there has been no disturbance at all.

The website I posted at the top of this page, mentions that newbieadguide website and I believe it has some solutions as to how to solve it.  It may help anyhow.

The quicker we rid the site of it, the better.

I have no problem with the legitimate ads- I use them from time to time, yet I wouldn't mind a paypal donation either. M@x you have every right to go to the ad broker and lodge a complaint, with all your members I would say you have a bit of leverage. The broker probably has one or two dog advertisers responsible for the malware and may not even realize it, I can't imagine this broker wants a bad rap. After enough surfing there are lots of sites suffering the same fate, they probably have a common broker. If you get other sites involved it can impact them even more.

I havent had this in a while (I just jinxed myself I suppose) but it's not a legitimate ad, its a hijacking virus that can infect and damage your computer it seems

Paypal donation idea is a great one  to get rid of these malicious problem causing adds its worth approx by estimation about $400 a month thats how much other sites who do donations get,  you maybe will get more because we all love prog and want to see this site remain .. I dont want a Trojan (who does)  I feel at risk just being here now.  please do something as I dont want to have to reformat my pc again so soon.

M@x has taken steps to eradicate the recent Malware incident which affected us. We were by no means the only major site to be affected, it was sophisticated attack on the Internet. More information on it can be found here:http://www.theregister.co.uk/2007/11/13/doubleclick_distributes_malware/

Now if only the malicious free Ipod attack can be eliminated, life will once again be serendipitous.
