^ it's the opposite for me ... I love QotSA but cannot get into Kyuss for some reason ... it's too boring.  I guess I should give them another listen ...

I happened to be staying up too late instead of sleeping and I just saw Queens of the Stone Age performing a song from Era Vulgaris on the David Letterman Show.

I downloaded quite a few tunes from both bands. They each have tunes I really dig and others that leave me flat or holding my ears. Another band to check out for Qotsa & Kyuss is Masters of Reality. I think Josh Homme guested on some of their albums.

I only have one Master's album, "Sunrise On The SufferBus" With Ginger Baker on drums, One of my most favorite albums of the '90's.

^ "Sunrise on the SufferBus" is also the only album I have from the Masters of Reality. I haven't listened to it in quite a while though so I don't recall what it sounded like.

I worked at a record store at the time that Sufferbus came out, One of the Reps gave me a promo on cassette. I listened to that tape until I wear it out, Eventually I replaced it with a CD.

Cream. A bit quirky, but an excellent disc. Ant's in the Kitchen just rocked me and is a great workout track.

Queens of the Stone Age are paying a visit to Detroit this week and the Detroit Free Press ran an article regarding them. The article centered around their keyboard player who is a Michigan native, but I thought that some fans might find it interesting. Please see the below link.

I think I am the only one here that respects Kyuss very much but almost 'hates' QotSA.
I believe that Kyuss' sound was more underground and more 'true'... if you know what I mean. QotSA's sound is much more commercial and too 'punkish' for me.
I find their music rather 'flat'. I still need to listen to them more carefully...but...
