I'm not a big fan of anime on television. I have some problems with the cheap animation and ludicrous melodrama of much of it. But there's a lot of wildly creative, almost surreal stuff out there that is worth checking out. |

I don't usually watch tv anime, although I followed Dragon Ball before it turned into sh*t when Goku got older and a bit of Ranma. Both because they were really funny when dealing with sex matters (I just love Goku discovering girls and telling Bulma: "you have rear in your chest" ) I watch more movie Anime. I like Miyazaki a lot, specially 'Spirited Away', which is one of the best movies I've ever seen. I'm eagerly awaiting for Otomo's 'Steamboy'. I really didn't like 'Akira', but I've seen it's an 'steampunk' film, and that's my cup of tea. |

Im was goona ask if anyone ever watched "Spirited Away" but i guess i was beat It is insane, it's gotta be my favorite movie right now. As for TV anime, yeah it sucks. Thats why i download mine in japanese I've have found it to be an art. They worship the voive actors in japan like they're gods, they really take this stuff seriously. It really sets itself apart from other cartoons and tv shows, in fact the only thing they have in common is that they are shown on tv Watching a good anime is rather similiar to listening to a good album, though i prefer the latter. prefably because I've never seen Peter Hammill in any anime

Trigun is by far the coolest anime show ever. By the way, has anyone seen Ghost in the Shell? That movie is uber cool. |

I have seen only "Wings of Honneamise" (or something like that), it was quite good film, but I'm not much keen on the anime style. As younger I also checked out few Urotsukidoji films, and they were funny as they had some pornography in them, but somehow the IMO silly demons-stuff didn't please me.

The films of Miyazaki are always the best, but i also thought that Cowboy Bebop was very enjoyable.

Of what I've seen (non-Miyazaki), I'd vote for Full Metal Alchemist were it in the poll.

None of the ones in the poll. My favourites are:
Monster Azumanga Daioh Elfen Lied Nightwalker: Midnight Detective Berserk Hellsing I'm just about to start watching Scrapped Princess and Texhnolyze. I quite like anime films, too, particularly Princess Mononoke and Grave of the Fireflies. Edited by Forgotten Son - January 22 2007 at 20:38 |
