i think that soad should be concidered as a prog band well they have constant rythm changes and they combine lots of different things isn't that ''progressive''??? |

I like them too...but prog? mmm no...not yet, maybe with some more albums they will be...the drumming of that band is insane!!!

they are a ambitious band and use mad rythm changes and combine different styles of music. I also like them but they fail to be real progressive yet.

Their too much pop imo. If they can make longer songs than plain old 3-6 mins then I might change my mind. I like them as a band though, I'm not even a metal fan and I still like them alot.

No, IMO. They're riffs are fairly simple from what I've heard, they have few if any extended songs, and their songs rarely stray from common rock structures which is the deciding factor for SOAD, IMO.
