After 4 decent albums they then offered up the horrible "Chuckles and Mr. squeezy". Are they done now? Going out on such a dud? Anyone know what they are up to?

Their first two albums are great. I think El Cielo is one of the top Crossover albums here.
I don't listen to CWA much but The Pariah is ok for what it is - more pop/indie oriented.
I wouldn't be surprised if Chuckles really brought them down, I haven't listened to it since it's pretty much been universally panned. Otherwise pretty good band.

That album is really a "St Anger".
What is it that sucks about it so much? I've not heard it.

...that moment you realize you like "Mob Rules" better than "Heaven and Hell"

I've been listening to some songs on it - i mean, it isn't nearly the same band from El Cielo. The songs overall are just predictable and just bland. You could listen to 2-3 songs on the album over and over and get the same experience.
It could be viewed as a decent pop album but it just lacks their normal emotional delivery or a strong grip with its hooks, chorus and songwriting.

it's not a St Anger, it's just an easy alternative pop-rock album, quite poppy. I like the album, it's ok but the magic of El Cielo and CwA is gone.

I hope they're not done. I know the guitarist started his own band called Black Map. They're more of a desert rock band and kind of poppy.

Chuckles was my first listen to them, and I hated it. Then I grew to really like it! Haven't heard it in a while, so I can't say for sure why. I've since got El Ceilo and honestly have not gotten in to it.
Odd...

Pariah is my favorite by Dredg, I hope they go back to making music like that.

Catch Without Arms was the only thing I could get into from Dredg, but it is a good record. Couldn't feel El Cielo, and I got rid of Pariah not long after getting it. But Chuckles was a massive departure from previous work, and I'm really not sure what they were trying to do with it. If they were trying to go mainstream pop, then they certainly could've chosen a better album cover. Either way, it wasn't good.
That NorCal scene Dredg came from had a good thing going about a decade ago. The bands were all kind of riding on the coattails of the Deftones. But it faded out rather quickly.
