Wow, PA really doesn't like poor Dillinger. They get slammed in reviews, never get mentioned, and no-one votes on their polls.
Anyway, Option Paralysis is a stonker of an album, closely followed by Ire Works with Miss Machine and Calculating Infinity just a tad aggressive for aggression's sake for me.
C'mon people, warm to the Dillinger.

Well that's because they are complete crap, I guess. In my view, they have no place in these archives whatsoever, being about as progressive as The Wombles.

DEP is not an easy band to love, admittedly. Coming from a metal background, I like 'em. Favorite is Miss Machine, followed closely by Ire Works.
Also don't forget Irony Is a Dead Scene, the EP they did with Mike Patton, featuring a cover of Aphex Twin's "Come To Daddy".

Indeed. I, for one, don't like them, but they do have some decent songs. Their albums, however, are mostly boring IMHO.

Alright, I'm not their biggest fans myself, but they're extraordinarily talented musicians and some of their time signatures are downright absurd. You can not like them but saying they're not progressive is just patently false.
Anyhow, my fav is Calculating Infinity.

Option Paralysis is the one that actually sounds like music the entire way through, the others all have their moments though.

Yep, quite underrated here. And who said they don't belong in the archives....... LIES!!!!
I'm not sure which album I like most because I've only heard some a couple of times. Ire Works and Option Paralysis seem the most varied with great tracks on each. Miss Machine seems the weakest to me but not without good parts. And Calculating Infinity, the one I have listened to most is some great crazy mathcore. But for reasons given, I don't think I'll vote yet. But I'm interested in what you all think!

I've only heard Option Paralysis so no vote, but I've got to admit, despite the fact they've got all the elements of a band I'd love I found that album rather boring, certainly British band Rolo Tomassi do the same thing far better on their second album Cosmology.

Tough one. All of them are great, going with the debut though. What I really like about DEP is that they keep evolving with every new release. New sounds, new approach, never the same old stuff. I don't what get too fancy over the "progressive" label, but DEP are by far definitive examples of musician breaking borders, by today's standard and the past's.
