Topic: dredg album poll Posted: June 25 2009 at 23:37 |
Now, here is a dredg poll including the new album, and also, it was about time that this great group gets noticed here. However much of prog they are, as they are included here under the label "crossover prog" it can not be that wrong. The few listeners they may have among our community are herewith encouraged to vote in this poll

Not ready to call the new one better than El Cielo just yet, though it is amazing IMO. El Cielo is my vote of course.

1. El Cielo (3.5/5) 2. Catch Without Arms (3.5/5) 3. Pariah (3/5) 4. Leitmotif (meh/5 --not really listened to it much but it sounds too much like hardcore)

I can't appropriately vote yet, the only two that I've heard are Leitmotif and El Cielo. I will say this, El Cielo I really like, on the other hand, if I used the phrase underwhelming to describe my thoughts of Leifmotif, I'd be erring on the side of kindness.

Seems that their last two albums get mixed reception, but I love them about as much as El Cielo. They are all truly amazing albums.

I'm going against the flow here in that I really like Catch Without Arms. I find all the tracks incredibly catchy, and the vocals are great too. It may be just that I found an album I really love and play that one by Dredg almost to the exclusion of the others. I have El Cielo too, and it's good, and maybe I need to give it a bit more time to digest what it has to offer!
Played the new album this morning on My Musical Commute, and I like it.........so at the moment it's Catch Without Arms, but in the future, who knows!

El Cielo was my introduction to Dredg, and typically it remains my personal favorite of theirs to this day. :)

Well allow me to bring you up to speed...they made two more wonderful records, called Catch Without Arms and The Pariah, the Parrot, the Delusion.
