An easy choice for me: Tales of Mystery and Imagination (1976). I'd be surprised if it doesn't win this poll, although I've been surprised by the poll results many times before. Smile

Tales is my favorite, and I Robot is second. The rest are not really my cup of tea.

I Robust for me.  Side 1 is incredible pop prog.  The performance by Alan Clarke in "Breakdown" is one for the ages

It's certainly looking that way with five votes for "Tales" already within the first hour. Smile

Make that six votes. Smile

I-Robot, one of the finest prog pop releases that I can think of.

Tales for me. Oddly enough, my introduction to this band was Stereotomy back in junior high.

Love Tales of Mystery and Imagination, but I Robot is the most special to me. It is a foundational album for my music journey and has been one of my favourite albums since my childhood. There was a time in my life that the only two albums I would spin were that and Gary Numan with Tubeway Army's Replicas (those albums are always linked in my head).

I have five Alan Parsons Project albums in a box set, but unfortunately, it doesn't include Tales of Mystery and Imagination, my favourite APP album.

I'm not sure what happened with my text  - it's become italicised and I can't straighten it out. Smile

It's because the italics tags are not inserted incorrectly in the post (hasn't closed the italics). Breaking the code to show it... Right now it is "...include [ I]Tales of Mystery and Imagination, my favourite APP album.[ /I][ I][ /I] [ I]I'm not sure what happened with my text  - it's become italicised and I can't straighten it out." Instead it should be, without the spaces, "It doesn't include [ I]Tales of Mystery and Imagination[/ I], my favourite APP album...." If there is an unclosed [I ] tag (closed is [/ I] ) then the following will all be in italics. By the way, I always manually type them out rather than using the rich-text editor (I have that feature turned off as otherwise my posts tend to fill with code -- SQL injections).

When people make reviews and fail to close their tags it's worse since it can make every subsequent review of the album when seeing together in italics, bold or whatever it is.

Perhaps that box set does not include that album because it is a rights issue, but then other versions do include it, such as The Complete Albums Collection.

They never surpassed their debut.Eye in the Sky and The Turn of a Friendly Card are pretty good, though. Alan's sidekick, Eric Woolfson, did a fine job with Freudiana.

Thanks for explaining the reason behind my text suddenly become italicised. I'd actually copied and pasted the Tales of Mystery and Imagination title from Wikipedia (in italics), but from that point onwards, the SQL code assumed I wanted ALL of my letters to appear in italics. At least it put a new slant on what I was saying. Smile

Nice pun, sometimes one just has to show those unwanted bent Italics who is boss by telling them to straighten up.

To quote The Vapors, one might say it's been turning Japanese (which is not to say that the Japanese have slanted eyes, that's more of a Chinese trait, it's more of a Japanese script thing -- I worked in Japan, best time of my life).... I find copy-pasting here from other sites problematic when using the the WYSIWYG post editor, which is found in Members Control Panel --> Forum Preferences. I keep it disabled partially for that reason. I'd rather import plain text most of the time and avoid the code that often comes with it. Before figuring that out when I had problems I would copy to Notepad then copy that here.

By the way, If you see my name as editing your post, that was an error, was having a battle with Captcha and did something wrong.
