which of the two bands is the better one... vulgar unicorn or pineapple thief ... for me its VULAGAR UNICORN....

I didn't think you'd get much feedback for this one.  I do really enjoy Vulgar Unicorn and they remind me of the town of Shelbourne because I was listening to it on my way back from dropping my daughter off at university many years ago now. It's funny how certain albums remind me of different places. I would vote for Pineapple Thief though a band I have enjoyed much longer than VUand they have way more albums out too.

Never heard of Vulgar Unicorn.
And while Pineapple Thief's first 2 albums or so are pretty good, the rest are very bland and boring for me.

I treasure immensely my 3 VU albums, all extremely quirky and original. On the other hand, PT is a poppier affair, way more predictable after their first 2 recordings.

No vote here, but I have a few Pineapple Thief albums - love Soord and the boys style -especially when they stretch their ideas out. They really are middle-ground between Porcupine Tree and Radiohead.
Alt. and Prog - best of both worlds.........
