"Alpha" was the first song I remember to ever make me cry because of how beautiful it was, and in searching for it (knowing only the name of the artist) a family member gave me a copy of the album Oceanic, the first CD I ever got.

I feel rotten for giving his last album such a negative review, so I'll instead encourage everyone to listen to the one song which I really liked from it:

"Music is much like f**king, but some composers can't climax and others climax too often, leaving themselves and the listener jaded and spent."

What a great loss!

I've always loved the music of Vangelis and what turned out to be his last album - "From Juno to Jupiter" - was one of his finest. Heart

Let's not forget "666" by Aphrodite's Child! A seminal album!

I'm a bit shocked. Another great musician left us too soon. I always loved is style, both technical and compositional.

RIP hard.
