It is snowing here in my town. I looked out the windows drinking my coffee and thought of being in a snow globe and then the next thing I thought of was a line from Captain Beyond’s song,  Breath Of Fire, Pt. 1 (A Speck Within a Sphere) from Dawn Explosion.

How weird the human brain works.

Nice story. I was listening to Transatlantic "We all need some light" when a fuse broke down and my house went all dark.

This may be kind of long, but interesting: I once lived with two roommates above and auto glass shop. One night we heard some screams from the shop and called the police. I had side one of Umma Gumma playing, Careful with that Axe Eugene to be precise. Once the screams on the song started my roommates completely freaked out. I laughed, telling them it was just the record. Stern looks came with the stern message, "Turn that off before the cops get here." I did. The police found nothing and could not go into the shop. As it turned out, the owner's girlfriend was down there processing some frustration. She was okay, though, I talked with her. Strange timing indeed.
The world of sound is certainly capable of infinite variety and, were our sense developed, of infinite extensions. -- George Santayana, "The Sense of Beauty"

That's interesting. I recall being a young man and trying to write a song chronicling the sorry state of the world, with wars, famines, corrupt politicians, etc. and what an individual could do by himself to deal with it. The song's verse lyrics were mostly finished  but I didn't have a very good chorus, so I put it on the shelf. Later that day, I went to a friend's house where he played me "Strong As Sampson" from Procol Harum's Exotic Birds And Fruit album, and I was surprised at how similar my lyrics were to a song I'd never heard before. I used to fall asleep listening to progressive FM radio stations, so did I hear it my sleep and recall it somehow, or did I have some kind of psychic connection with Keith Reid, Procol's longtime lyricist? To this day, I really don't know.
