Just discovered that the brothers Freeman of Ultima Thule, have posted a "light electronic" version of their book Crack In The Cosmic Egg at

some claim the print on paper version, to be the essential guide to Kraut rock. If you disagree with anything, e.mail Alan Freeman directly at Ultima Thule, he likes arguments!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've been shown some pages of the fully illustrated electronic version,  as a work-in-progress project when  visiting their Leicester shop in September, - impressive.

Impressive at first glance indeed (the on-line version I mean), looks quite comprehensive for an incomplete work. Will the illustrated electronic version also be displayed at the same site?

I'm not really into krautrock, but it's something I'm planning to explore sometimes in the near future, and a guiding "manual" will come in handy.

Neither am I but UT's Freemans are very slowly educating me, and knowing some of my tastes have been fairly accurate in recommendations of bands I've hadn't heard of before. I've been told there aren't that number of books on krautrock (especially in English), and (pop singer) Julian Cope has lavished praise on the Cosmic Egg, when he had published an ealrier 'definitive' book on the subject.
