After an album of funkiness, this one returns to furious metal with hard hitting riffs, solos and well, that same leftover electronic drum machine. Hmmm.
The title track is the longest at 15:44 and is basically one of those metal jam sessions (by one) that incorporates a heavy metal riffing that trades off with other riffs, an accompanying bass and an electronic drum machine that is quite boring. Although i'm sure BH uses such technology as the solo performer on these albums, on this one the percussion sounds particularly canned. This one is quite boring as it just goes on and on and on. Yawn.
"Pop-Up Skull," track number two, brings back the funky bass immediately with a smokin' lead guitar riff that is very bluesy like Hendrix meets Parliament. Although the guitar is prominent, it does drop out and let the funky bass hog all the attention often. This one is pretty boring as well.
"Uncle Bubbles (inspired by Towel's dad)" starts out with a heavy metal riffage and smokin' lead guitar rippin' up and down the scales. This one is extremely high energy and a seriously metallic rocker, however it is also boring. At 8:55 it has nothing worthy of its time run. Riffs, solos, drum machine. Yawn. This album is boring. I don't like anything on it. Sigh :(
