Methodica is an quite unknown progressive metal band from Italy with one album released so far in 2009 named Searching for reflections, even the bands dates since 1995. I like this kind of prog metal, intense, well played and composed with ghreat and complex passages, but suffers in sound, to muddy for this type of music, but not entirely bad. Long pieces, well develeoped, good towards great duels between guita and keybords makes from this album an enjoyble ride. Skilled musicians who knowns how to handle instruments and create something worth investigate by prog metal fans. Above that the singer Massimo Piubelli has an excellent voice, very warm who fits perfect in this kind of music, very passionate and with great range, a real great vocalist. Excluding the shortest piece from this album Heavenland (Marble Column Pt.1) , the rest of the tracks are all clocking around 9 min and above, that means Methodica loves complex and well developed passages, where the skills of the musicians and not only, the inventive arrangements are almost top notch. Very good and in front are the bass lines, Alessandro Brisco done a good job here, showing that he means bussines when he put the hand on his instrument. Forte tracks, the opening Neon is a killer one, solid rhytmic section with blistering guitars and excellent voice, the rest are almost in same vein, no time for respiro here only the short Heavenland (Marble Column Pt.1) with piano arrangements, the rest are prog metal well done and well played. A band that for sure needs attention and an eye to waht they release in the future, because they know bussines in thisdomanin. Similar with USA prog metal band and one a realy love Mindwarp Chamber.
