5 stars This is not so much a review of Black Noise per say, but a subjective review of seeing them performing it LIVE. I saw FM at Queen's University(Grant Hall),Kingston Ont. Canada sometime in the late 70's. Opening for them we're none other than Saga. I, along with my wife, went to see them with the expectation that they could not really reproduce the intensity and excitement that we hear on the album. We could not have been more wrong. It's been so long that I can't really expand on details but man...they nailed it big time. I just remember being aurally inundated with the most glorious sound possible. And you want to talk about loud? I swear that the ringing in my ears these days come down to this concert. Metallica might like to think that they are the loudest band ever but they would bow to these guys. Oh, and Saga....the 2 gents directly seated in front of me were there to see them, but shortly into FM's set they quickly realized why they were the opening act. I can't believe that we hear Saga tunes on the radio now and then but never any thing by FM. I have to give it 5 stars based on the fact that, yes they were for real and the album was not just produced on studio magic....John
