2 stars Short and easy. There is always a debut album. The band Galleon shows here what they'll be playing for many years: soft easy-listening Prog. This one is PopProg (does that exist?), made of mid-long themes from 6 to 14 min that get too long for the little variation and novelty they contain. I've listened to other albums of the band that had clear influences from Genesis, Marillion and the likes, but this is more influenced by money-making contemporary PopRock bands at least in the first half, and yes, Marillion-Floydian in the second. The music is simple, pleasant to the ear, but doesn't get any deeper: boring for hardcore Proggers. It is dominated by acoustic guitar and background keys, with an insipid bass-drum section, and a not particularly charming singer. They'll make it better in following albums. If you are in a hurry, skip it. A couple of willing themes are the opening Untouchable and On the North Shore.
