3 stars I'm a faithful Yes fan but maybe Union is one of the weakest Yes album. However there are some good tracks whch reminds some of the 70's classic Yes and some of the best 80's Yes hits... Obviously this is not enough to make a great album. In fact the "union" proclaimed by the title doesn't wotk in 75% of the album.

As I said, there are some good tracks, not in the level of the classic Yes but songs that you could enjoy. I Would Have Waited Forever is a really powerful song closer to Tormato stuff, a nice opener. Shock to the System has a heavy rhythmical base and some interesting short acoustic sections... BTW, that song remonds me 90125 City of Love. Masquerade is a nice piece but far away of the best and legendary acoustic guitar songs played by Steve Howe. Lift Me Up is a regular poppy-rock song which works as a single in the classic style of any Trevor Rabin 80's composition. Same for Saving my Heart.

Miracle of Life is another song that contains some 70's Yes elements mixed with the almost epical chorus arrangements of Rabin era. The More We Live (Let Go) is another good song even when you can feel the lack of inspiration. This time, the track reminds me one of the best 80's Yes songs: Shoot High, Aim Low. Angkor Wat and Take the Water to the Mountain are two songs a la Anderson, very athmospherical and almost spiritual. For me, the two best songs of the album.

Definetively Union will never be a classic but has some good moments. 2.6*.
